Log Cabin School in 1912

   This interesting old picture, made in 1912, shows the class of that year in the Leatherwood, (Henry county, VA) school with a number of the students who have at one time or another lived in the Draper section of Eden. The photo was furnished by Mrs. Ora Gilbert Woodall, of 1308 Front street, Eden, widow of the late Roy Woodall.
Mrs. Woodall, has identified those in the photo as follows: first row-, left to right, Oliver Wells, Gracie Gilbert, Elizabeth Gilbert, Mable Wingfield Mason, Lonnie Hatcher Gallimore, Mamie Hatcher (deceased), Emory Gilbert (deceased), J. F. Law and Sadie Gilbert (deceased); 

Second row, Jesse Wells, Lewis Johnson, Clay Carter, Luey Law Wright, Pearl Gilbert Hoyle, Leona Wells Stewart, Myrtle Gilbert Motley, Virgie Law Agnew; 

Third row, Hyram Carter, Leslie Hatcher, Ernest Hatcher and Roy Woodall (all three deceased), Ora Gilbert Woodall, Annie Hatcher Austin, Ada Carter Gregory, Delia Carter Hodges, Lonzie Carter, Alice Carter and Leroy (Dick) Carter, all three deceased. Miss Bessie Cahill was the teacher.
