I seem to be able to trace my Hopper ancestry to a Thomas Hopper and wife Ann, through son William on down to Jesse(1790-1846) and wife Martha (Patsey) Grogan, their son James Atherson, his son William Monroe in Ky. and my father, Treamon Hopper. I would like to have as much information as possible about my family. Leadville and land at Matrimony Creek seems to be a home area for the Hoppers. William "Bud" Hopper moved on from Ky. to Oklahoma where I was born. If there is info. available I would love to have access. Thank you so much--Jane Hopper Emerson

Great web site! I am originally from the Draper area, born at Leaksville General Hospital in 1945. I am a 1963 graduate of Morehead High School. I worked for Fieldcrest, Fieldcrest Cannon, Pillowtex for 39 years and stayed with them until they closed on July 30, 2003. Most of my family still lives in Eden.

I was told that my great grandfather, Jeremiah David Hudson born in 1850 and died abt 1899, husband of Annie Eliza Churchill (Ridgeway, VA), had lived there when he was a youth and was buried in that area (Spray/Leaksville). If anyone has information, I would appreciate hearing from them. I was searching for cemeteries at your site and found those great photos instead.
