Mildred Randolph Rakestraw Hopper (1917-2000)
Birth: Nov. 24, 1917 Death: Feb. 15, 2000
EDEN - Mildred Rakestraw Hopper, 82, of 318 Cedar St., died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2000, at Wake Forest University Baptist Hospital.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 18, 2000, at Kings Highway Christian Church. Burial will be in Overlook Cemetery.
She was a native of Leaksville (now Eden), attended Kings Highway Christian Church. For many years, she taught a teen girls class and in later years, taught a ladies Bible study class. She was the treasurer of Hopper Oil Co., where she and her husband, were owners/ operators.
Survivors are her husband, William "Mutt" Hopper of the home; daughters and husbands, Betty Wynne and Richard Wynne of Raleigh, Vivian Ann Lee and Wayne Lee of Atlanta, Ga.; grandchildren, Joshua, Zachary, Hannah and Sam Wynne of Raleigh, Dosier and Jessica Lee of Atlanta, Ga.; and sister, Vivian Winn of Eden.
She was the daughter of the late Charlie B. Rakestraw and Maybud Manley Rakestraw.
