LEAKSVILLE MAY GET NATIONAL GUARD
November 17-23, 1927
An effort is under way in Leaksville to get a National Guard unit located in the area.
Bennett Nooe Jr. and Dr. George A. Ferguson of Leaksville recently visited Raleigh to confer with
General J. Van B. Metts, North Carolina adjutant general, about this possibility. They were greatly encouraged over the prospect of having a brigade headquarters located in the town, with
General Metts agreeing to visit the community later this month and look over the field.
