LIX. Walking Tall
This was back in the 60's I guess. I was Line Sergeant of "A" shift.....My call was "one Adam-10 ."My Dispatcher, Willie Aheron was due a day off and since it was very quiet, I took the radio and let my lads work their areas. Late that night...I got a teleytype......McNairy County Tennessee sheriff Buford Pusser had been killed in an automobile accident in McNairy County....
I had seen Walking Tall and I printed off two copies and posted one for first shift...I found the original copy of the teletype....forty years later while cleaning the house, I decided to offer it on eBay....it sold quickly and surprised me at its final price...I think it went to a deputy sheriff in Tennessee....now, I wish I had printed off fifty copies....
