Five Forks 1931

An old photograph turned into the Eden Preservation Society for its files shows Five Forks, the intersection of McConnell Avenue, Harris Street and three other roads. In this picture, men gather at the community water pump, under a gazebo, in front of what is now the Eden Boys' Club. At one time, a grocery store was on the first floor, with a school upstairs, according to an Eden Preservation Society member. On the side was a barber shop. The date on the back of the print is 1931.
